ABOUT

What we do

The Cenacle offers comprehensive and individualized services to assist families with low socioeconomic backgrounds.

Providing case management, parenting classes, cooking lessons, health education programs, support groups, and material resources. All resources are offered in both English and Spanish.

Addressing the social determinants of health by increasing perceived social support and education, as well as providing material assistance. Case management and support groups provide the most effective support for pregnant women. Evidence based parenting education addresses the lack of knowledge and inaccessibility of prenatal healthcare among a vulnerable population.

Offering education programs related to pregnancy, nutrition, physical activity, labor/delivery, infant care, breastfeeding, and safe sleeping. Participants are connected to additional services in Philadelphia. Social workers assist participants as they navigate the application process to receive resources (i.e., SNAP, WIC, free car seats, crib “Pack ‘N Play,” health insurance, education programs, or employment opportunities).
